What better way to start off the entry with a picture that'll ignite u'r christmas spirits?

Paragon's Xmas Tree
Paragon's christmas tree has always been, in my opinion, the best in terms of decoration. Year after year after year they've managed to sorta take my breath a way. although Singapore doesn't snow and instead, it rains like mad... I still prefer a WHITE christmas as opposed to this year's GOLDEN theme one. all the xmas trees looked like ice-kachang *quoting wilson's description*
Right after taking the above picture, wilson and i was like in awe and as expected, wilson has yet another caption to contribute.
"like a starry night! full of stars hor!"
and yes indeed. the picture captured our imagination and it's as if the stars and slowly circling the tree to make its way up to the top of it where the brightest star will shine.
We were in town for me to grab some kinokuniya vouchers for xmas present exchange thingy we're having in my office. then i knitted this cute lil cherry keychain (forgot to upload pic) as a compliment to the vouchers. it's really damn cute and i'm quite happy with the result.
i saw a book authored by a female japanese that teaches one how to handmake jewelleries with all the wires and beads. the featured patterns are pretty nice and a few of them i'm very tempted to try BUT... the price of the book is around $34. i'm still thinking about it. it's abit costly...
i realised one thing. i enjoy handmaking anything alot. and the strangest thing is, i seldom keep what i make. i start on a project normally for the sake of others... as in to make something for others. i started off making the beaded knitted amulet bag for xmas gifts for others. then i made a bookmark specifically for sano's bdae. then i knitted hp pouches for wilson and now a cherry keychain (inspired by lijun's present to me) for a fellow colleague. it's a good feeling making things for others and you'll put in more effort to make sure it's presentable and durable for the use of others. they'll be the best judge of your handiwork.
sano's scarf started off badly though. the design i started with sucks.
i'll rework the entire thing soon.
I like taking photos with my gu so here's another one taken at the concourse of Ngee Ann City. It was pretty noisy that day since there's some sort of charity fun fare going on.
We walked over to Lucky Plaza to try out luck and see if we can get to eat the nasi lemak from there. Many times we've gone over to try our luck and the shop is closed. There's not much customers in the shop itself and dining there, one can't help but wonder how they survive operating under such circumstances.
Then i found my answer. They get orders from neighbouring shops and will deliver the food over. no wonder lar!
we went over to TANGS subsequently in attempt to find wilson's friend who is working there but it seems like a wasted trip. he's not working that day. only realised that when we were upstairs but we shopped around a little first.
Think it's been quite awhile since the both of us really shopped around Orchard lotsa new stuff and shops and we were like "WAH WAH" at the sights and sounds.... maybe just me lah. wilson is usually rather non-responsive to surroundings lol.
We made a trip to Far East Plaza for me to check out a beads shop to see if they sold keychain straps. They do but i think it's abit pricy.
Ahh..... suddenly recall what's our main purpose to orchard LOL. to eat korean ahahahhaha @ meridien hotel's foodcourt. damn long queue. then went plaza sing to check out SPOTLIGHT for polyester stuffings but damn alot so end up didn't buy any...
the above description of our day in orchard is actually a combination of friday and saturday. lol timeline abit screwed but aiyah....
Standard Chartered Marathon 2006
I slept abit late the night before because I was busy knitting my cherry keychain. then wilson came out for toilet and caught me up awake. so i had to hurry on up to finish my work and go to bed. he was complaining that he couldn't fall asleep since his bolster (me) is not available. no idea wad time it was already.
the infuriating part was......... we had to wake up at 5.45AM in the freakin morning.
ROAAAAAAAAAAAAR *toasts wilson's butt*
why? cos my gu go n join the standard chartered marathon. and he intends to do so every year. omg laaaaaaa.......
chiong ah......!
wonder why there's two separate tracks for running? the one nearer to you with the super tanned guy running (only guy in the track)is for the 42KM marathon. it's from one end of the island to the other end lor! the rest are for the half marathons and 10KM run.
I had to walk over from esplanade (there's where the starting point was) to padang (finishing point). i was so stupid lor. thank god my mom reminded me to bring along the guide that as a map of the marathon's trail and since wilson told me there's shuttle bus services bringing us to the finishing point i was searching around for the pick up point. then i realised my gu fed me false information basket! there's no blardi pick up point at esplanade and it's not for bring u to finishing line lar! then i even stupidly stationed at a place and saw alot of the joggers run past (one ah pek was wearing yukata!!!! and a straw hat! damn cute) and checked my map to realise that's only a viewing point. wah lau. so checked map again and realised padang actually damn near only and can walk over so i did. stupid.
there's alot of international reknowned runners. lotsa japanese kids too.
i stood near the finishing line and realise they created a gap with fences blocking viewers from officials from running track. wah laaaaaaau. then stupidly did not realise further down fencing was removed and can see runners and take pic only AFTER the race. double wah lau. then i wondered how to find my gu (since he nvr bring hp) when he finishes his race so i looked around for signs and saw "reunite area". so i just camped there till i saw my uber tired gu come out. SO PROUD I'M GONNA BURST.
my gu completed the race yea!
(then realised right... got injuries i.e. fractures.. cramps.. etc for the 42km runners..)
i even saw a girl puke on the road while running then decided to walk. O_O
after my gu came through we camped at the side. felt like slapping the women on my left. they're from VISA company la attempting to take pictures for the fellow colleague's who's running. LEAN ALL THE WAY OVER BO. BLOCK EVERYONE ELSE BEHIND WHO WANNA TAKE PIC. FUCKIN INSENSITIVE. Knn...
then i spotted a familiar face or rather.. colour. HL's blue tshirt LOL. saw her earlier on in the morning before gu started the run. then now i see her almost finishing the race. cheerios too!
we continued camping in hope to see kelvin finish his race. kor running the 42KM. then we even saw a man running barefooted for the 42km and he's on the way to the finishing line!!!! DAMN HARDCORE LAR.
it soon started to drizzle and so we decided to head for shelter instead and ran to Raffles City. i waited for quite some time before my stomach gave way and i decided to eat in burger king first. we wanted to wait for kelvin but there seems to be no sign nor sound from him at all and so we decided to head home first. wilson's abit over-heated from the run and is getting headache so we wanna head home for him to take a cool bath and take a nap. i can almost sense the smoke coming out from his head.
on a later note we came to know that kelvin injured his leg and thus walked the nxt half of the marathon to complete it. POOR GUY! but he's such a good sport. at least he perservered to finish the entire 42km ok!
we napped for a couple of hours before heading out to IKEA Tampines cos it's the last day for me to drop off the Quiz forms hehehehe
Reached tampines where the shuttle bus pick up point was and omg la.
where got so many people one!?
the bus ride there rather long and when we got there? damn big the place. because of the crowd it's quite haywired. lotsa people lotsa kids lotsa idiotic ppl and a stupid mother who rolled her pram's wheel over my feet.
there was a GIANT and a COURTS megastore just nxt to where IKEA was. the crowd of people coming here for shopping will be crazy. shall avoid this place for a few months.
some of the items were going off at a rather cheap price and so i bought more of the cheap wooden photo frames to add on more pictures to my "wall of friendship".
